TruStyle began in 1993 as a one-woman jewelry workshop founded by Katy Sit. But the story starts even earlier in 1992, during the Olympic Games, when Katy was 21 and her younger brother Alex was just 9. Their father made beaded necklaces and sold them on the streets of Mong Kok to support the family.
Later that year, Katy moved to Japan to study fashion design, knowing she could work as a student to fund her tuition. But in 1993, unable to afford to continue, she returned to Hong Kong and used her savings to open a small jewelry retail shop the first version of TruStyle.
Katy began creating mixed media jewelry with glass beads, crystals, leather, and wire. By 1998, TruStyle had grown into a wholesale business offering handcrafted artisan jewelry. In 2002, they opened a casting and handmade workshop laying the foundation for what is now a fully integrated atelier manufacturer.
In 2017, Katy passed the leadership to her brother Alex See, who expanded the company’s structure, refined its creative systems, and brought a fresh commitment to efficiency, inclusivity, and long-term brand partnerships.
